Tomas Jelinek, MD, PhD, is an associate professor and clinical hematologist at the Department of Hematooncology, Faculty Hospital Ostrava, and the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ostrava. He works in the Intensive Care Unit and Transplantation Unit, as well as the outpatient department, focusing on multiple myeloma and other monoclonal gammopathies. An integral part of his research involves the Flow Cytometry facility, where Dr. Jelinek is the leader. He became a specialist in the field of hematooncology in 2018 and defended his PhD thesis in 2020. Dr. Jelinek’s main research interests lie in myeloma immunotherapy and novel anti-myeloma agents. Throughout his career, he has authored or co-authored more than 70 publications, many of them in highly ranked and well-recognized journals. Additionally, he is a member of the European Hematology Association and Board member of Czech Myeloma Group and Czech Society of Analytical Cytometry.
