Consultant Haematologist & Associate Professor

• Dr Popat is a consultant hematologist at UCH and honorary associate professor at UCL with specialist expertise in multiple myeloma
• He graduated from Guy’s and St Thomas’ Medical School in London and trained in hematology at St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London Hospital, where he completed a PhD in novel treatments for myeloma and was awarded a fellowship to attend the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
• He has experience with novel treatments, including immunotherapies such as CAR-T cell therapy and new antibody approaches. At University College Hospital, he leads the myeloma clinical trials program and is the cancer lead for the NIHR UCLH Clinical Research Facility
• He is the Chair of the UK Myeloma Research Alliance, is on the executive board of the UK Myeloma Forum, and is on the junior board of the European Myeloma Network
