Dana Cholujova, PhD
Dana Cholujova, PhD holds the position of a senior scientist at the Department of Tumor Immunology at the Cancer Research Institute, Biomedical Research Center, Slovak Academy of Sciences, located in Bratislava, Slovakia.
Her primary research focus is to investigate the underlying mechanisms behind the development and progression of hematologic malignancies, with a particular emphasis on multiple myeloma and non-Hodgkin B-cell lymphomas. Additionally, her translational hematological research includes the study of clonal heterogeneity and tumor-driven changes in the tumor immune microenvironment.
Dana Cholujova pursued her studies in biology, specializing in animal and human physiology, at Pavol Jozef Safarik University in Kosice. She earned her PhD in oncology at the Cancer Research Institute in Bratislava, Slovakia. From early beginning of her academic career, her research interests have been deeply rooted in the field of tumor immunology, with a specific focus on cell components of innate immunity during her doctoral research. Recently, she has been more actively involved in the study of immune pathways mediated by immune checkpoint molecules and in-depth immune cell profiling using high-dimensional single-cell analyses by CyTOF technology.
She is an author and co-author of 41 scientific papers, with more than 930 citations, and Principal Investigator (PI) and co-PI for several national projects in the field of oncology research.
