Dr Tadao Ishida is the Director of the Department of Hematology at the Japanese Red Cross Medical Center in Japan. He completed his M.D, Ph.D, and residency at the Sapporo Medical University, before finishing his fellowship at the Vanderbilt Cancer Center in the US in 1998.
Dr Ishida’s specialities encompass a range of hematologic cancers including multiple myeloma, acute leukemia, and malignant lymphoma. He currently has authorships or co-authorships in over 90 publications and has published in the New England Journal of Medicine. His body of publications also includes studies from the Japanese Society of Myeloma where he currently serves as an executive director.
In addition to being a prominent figure at the Sapporo Medical University where he was a lecturer and associate professor at the First Department of Internal Medicine for 15 years, Dr Ishida has also been a supervisor at the Japanese Society of Gastroenterology and a designated physician for patients with physical handicaps due to immune dysfunction caused by HIV, pediatric patients with chronic disease, and patients with intractable disease.
