Dr Gaurav Agarwal is an Academic Junior Doctor at Oxford University Hospitals within the NHS. Gaurav studied Medicine at University of Oxford. Whilst a medical student, he completed basic science research internships at Harvard University and Cambridge University, and developed an interest in academic haematology. Currently, he is pursuing two lines of research. In the lab, he is studying how genetic variation affects normal and malignant blood production with Professor James Davies. In the clinic, Gaurav is collaborating with Professor Karthik Ramasamy to research novel genetic, imaging and serum biomarkers for multiple myeloma risk stratification. Whilst early in his clinical training, Gaurav hopes to complete a PhD and continue his training in academic haematology in the coming years.
