Jonathan J. Keats, Ph.D. is the Director of Bioinformatics, Director of the Collaborative Sequencing Center and an Assistant Professor in the Integrated Cancer Genomics Division at the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen) in Phoenix, Arizona. He is also the Scientific Director of the Judy and Bernard Briskin Center for Multiple Myeloma Research at City of Hope. He earned his PhD in Oncology at the University of Alberta and completed fellowship training at the Mayo Clinic. His main research focus is on the genetics and associated biology of different multiple myeloma subtypes. He leads a lab focused on using cutting edge technology to improve our understanding of the genetic origins of myeloma and how therapeutic resistance develops. His primary contributions to the field of multiple myeloma include characterization of the clinical impact of t(4;14), identification of constitutive activation of the NF-kB pathway, and defining the clonal evolution of myeloma tumors with time and therapeutic selection.
