PhD student
University of Wolverhampton, United Kingdom
I am Gowtham Rajendran, a final year PhD student at the Experimental Cancer Therapeutic Research Group (ECTRG) at the University of Wolverhampton. Our group, led by Prof. Weiguang Wang, specializes in the translation of Disulfiram (DS) and its metabolites for cancer treatment. My project is focused on investigating the anticancer potential of ZnDDC, a zinc metal complex of DS. Our aim is to translate it as a novel CRBN E3 ubiquitin ligase modulator for the treatment of Multiple Myeloma.nThis project is part of the UK-NIHR-NHS portfolio study and is in direct collaboration with the West Midlands Clinical Network and Wolverhampton NHS New Cross Hospital. The translational part of this work is strongly associated with our group's spinout company, DISULFICAN Ltd. This company is focused on the commercialization of our research findings for clinical use.
