Alejandro Medina-Herrera, PhD, is a postdoctoral researcher at the University Hospital of Salamanca, one of the three reference laboratories in Spain for multiple myeloma. His background includes expertise in molecular biology, especially in the genetic characterization of multiple myeloma and the analysis of minimal residual disease using next-generation sequencing strategies (DNA sequencing, single-cell sequencing, quantitative PCR). He is an active member of different national and international groups and associations (Spanish myeloma group, Spanish group of molecular biology in hematology, international myeloma society, EuroMRD, EuroClonality, EuroNGS).
