V. Leblond, professor emeritus in Hematology at Sorbonna Unoversity , was the head of the department of Hematology at Pitié Salpêtrière Hospital, Paris, France
She is the co-chair of the French Innovative Leukemia Organization including more than 90 centres in France and Belgium (FILO). She is responsible for a rare tumor network (K-VIROGREF) dedicated to the management of transplant recipients with virus-induced tumors and funded by l’Institut du Cancer (INCA) in 2012. She is the leader of a research program on “Rare immunoimmunological cancer” in the Integrated research site “CURAMUS” (Cancer United Research Associating Medicine University and Society) funded by INCa, INSERM and Health French Ministry in 2017 and in 2023 at Hôpital Pitié Salpêtrière / Medicine Sorbonne University.
The team historically focuses more specifically on chronic B-cell lymphoproliferative disorders: chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia (WM)], and on amyloidosis (Expert center), ocular and CNS lymphoma (Expert center) and on lymphoproliferations in immunosuppressed patients (HIV, organ transplanted patients).
V Leblond is connected to several very active patient associations and charities: Ellye, International WM Foundation and Waldenström France.
She is an author of over 400 research articles, books and book chapters
