Dr Albert Oriol leads the Hemato-Oncological Clinical Trial Unit at the Institut Català d’Oncologia in Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital, in Badalona. He obtained his degree in Medicine in 1989 at the Autonomous Barcelona University and specialized in Hemathology and Hemotherapy from 1991 to 1994. He obtained a degree in Statistics in 1997 and a Master in Methodology for Life Sciences and Medicine in 1998 at the Autonomous Barcelona University. He obtained his PhD in the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department of the same University in 2012.
Since 2006 his research focused in early and advanced phase multiple myeloma clinical trials and has contributed to around 200 peer-reviewed articles and reviews in multiple myeloma and acute leukemia. He is a member and president of the scientific board of the Spanish PETHEMA group and member of the Spanish Myeloma Group (GEM).
