Professor
Indiana University
Indianapolis, Indiana, United States
Brian A Walker, PhD, Professor of Medicine at Melvin and Bren Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center, Indiana University, Indianapolis, IN.
Dr Walker is interested in the genomics of multiple myeloma and its presursor diseases. He has utilized large datasets of genomic data derived from patient populations to determine the driver genes in newly diagnosed myeloma that are mutated, have altered copy number, or whose expression is altered by structural variants.
Dr Walker has 24 years of molecular genetic experience, of which 16 years has specifically been in multiple myeloma. During this period, he has been heavily involved in utilizing cutting-edge approaches to inform the genomics of myeloma and have maintained a consistent publication record in high-level scientific journals, with a total of 130 peer-reviewed publications, most recently identifying genomic determinants of high risk smoldering multiple myeloma.
