Professor of Medicine; Director, Myeloma Program
University of Chicago, Chicago, IL, USA, United States
My name is Andrzej Jakubowiak, MD, PhD. I am Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the University of Chicago with a particular focus on investigating new treatments and conducting clinical trials for multiple myeloma. As the current Director of the Multiple Myeloma Program at the University of Chicago, and previously at the University of Michigan, I led both programs to significant growth and development, receiving the prestigious Multiple Myeloma Research Consorcium Myeloma Center of the Year Awards twice, and Myeloma Accelerator Award. My most important contributions are in newly diagnosed myeloma, including the development and the evaluation of the KRd regimen for newly-diagnosed multiple myeloma. I serve as overall PI of several multi-site phase I and I/II studies in Multiple Myeloma Research Consortium, and overall PI of 2 international phase III trials—ATLAS and COBRA, in collaboration with Polish Myeloma Consortium.
