Dr. Gonsalves is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Mayo Clinic in the Division of Hematology. He completed his medical school and internal medicine residency at Creighton University School of Medicine and his fellowship training in hematology/oncology as well as an advanced fellowship in dysproteinemias at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. His clinical practice focuses on the management of patients with plasma cell disorders such as multiple myeloma, light chain amyloidosis, etc. His translational research focuses on understanding the cellular metabolism of malignant plasma cells in diseases such as multiple myeloma and their precursor states by employing a variety of metabolomics-based techniques in an integrated fashion.
