Ting Du, PhD, instructor of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School. I start working in the laboratory of Dr. Kenneth C. Anderson from 2018. Proteasome inhibitors (PIs) that directly target the 20S core particle (CP), is a common therapeutic strategy in multiple myeloma (MM), but prone to off-target toxicity and the emergence of drug resistance. My research focuses on the mechanisms of drug resistance in MM and discovery of the new drug to overcome it by targeting the 19S regulatory particles (RPs), the upstream of 20S CP. My studies in oncogenomics and cell signaling provided the rationale for combining various therapeutic agents to enhance antiMM activity and the framework for further developing new inhibitors to overcome PI resistance in MM.
