Emma Cheney is a final year Doctor of Philosophy Candidate with the Myeloma Research Laboratory at The University of Adelaide in South Australia, Australia. Emma completed a Bachelor of Health and Medical Sciences (majoring in Medical Science) at the University of Adelaide in 2019. In 2020, Emma commenced a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) (Medial Science) degree, which she upgraded to a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) (Medicine) in December 2021. Working under the supervision of Dr Duncan Hewett, Dr Jacqueline Noll and Professor Andrew Zannettino, her research broadly focuses on investigating the aberrant immune components of the bone marrow microenvironment that help support multiple myeloma tumour development and progression. Emma is passionate about developing novel immunotherapy treatment strategies for multiple myeloma and hopes her research will improve patient survival outcomes and quality of life.
